About Scouting

Scouting is much more than just a few knots!

If you still believe that Scouting is all about boys, tents, knots, and woggles, then let us show you that it is not the case. With over 200 activities available, Scouting offers everyday adventures to young people of all genders and adult volunteers.

Although Scouting has some traditions, just like football, it doesn’t mean everything is done the same as it always has been. Today, we focus on modern Scouting, providing a relevant, balanced programme that aligns with what young people expect.

Simply put, Scouting is an affordable way to provide your child with exciting and adventurous activities. Joining Scouting will help your child learn essential life skills, develop self-confidence, and make new friends in a safe and supportive environment.

Our commitment to adventure is what sets us apart.

We believe in offering a wide range of exciting and diverse activities that are tailored to suit every young person, regardless of their physical ability. From kayaking to archery, abseiling to staged performance, we’ve got something for everyone.

At the core of Scouting is a desire to help young people reach their full potential as individuals and as members of their wider communities. We strive to provide a balanced programme that encourages personal growth, intellectual development, social skills, and spiritual awareness.

The Founder of Scouting had a vision that has grown into a global Movement, with Scouts in every corner of the world. Scouting occurs in Scout Groups, Explorer Scout Units and Scout Networks, providing a fun and supportive environment where boys and girls can come together to enjoy the programme.

No matter where you are, you’re never too far from a Scout group. So why not get in touch and register your interest today?

Join us on an adventure of a lifetime and discover what Scouting is all about!

What do Parents Say?

Feedback from parents speaks volumes about the positive impact of Scouting on young people. In a recent survey of over 2,000 parents of Scouts, an overwhelming 90% agreed that Scouting is valuable, and just as many reported that their children find Scouting enjoyable. It’s clear that Scouting offers more than just fun and adventure; it also helps young people develop essential life skills, character traits, and a sense of responsibility that will benefit them for years.
