Beavers

Beavers

Beavers is the second section of Scouting and is designed for boys and girls aged 6 to 8 years old. Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making new friends, playing games, visiting, and helping others. It’s a fun and active programme that helps children learn new skills and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

Beavers take part in a wide range of activities, from outdoor adventures to creative projects and team challenges. They work towards badges and awards that recognise their achievements and help them develop new skills. Some Beaver Scout Colonies also organise sleepovers, which can be the first time a young person spends a night away from home.

Through Beavers, children learn to work together, make new friends, and develop a sense of independence and responsibility. It’s a great way to introduce young children to Scouting and help them start their journey towards becoming well-rounded and capable adults.

The Beaver Scout Promise is:

I promise to do my best
To be kind and helpful
And to love God.

The Beaver Scout Motto is:

Be Prepared
